Job Title: Mental Health Specialist

Mental health specialists provide critical support services to individuals and communities affected by mental health conditions and psychosocial issues. This role requires a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and effective communication skills to build trust with clients and their families.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide evidence-based psychological services for clients and their families, including individual and group counselling and psychotherapy.
  • Engage with clinical and supportive supervision to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Work as part of a mental health case management team along with other service providers to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Support the delivery of trainings for staff on topics relevant to psychological practice and case management.
  • Conduct risk assessments and advise staff on carrying out risk assessments and the development of safety plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in psychology and/or holding a license to practice psychology is essential.
  • Experience working with an NGO is preferred, but not required.
  • 3+ years' experience in mental health is preferred, but not necessary.
  • The ability to work under pressure in low-resource contexts is crucial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for this role.
