Job Overview:

Import and Export Operations Manager

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing import and export operations to ensure timely payments and smooth clearance of shipments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing purchase orders based on proforma invoices and arranging letters of credit (LCs) or contracts with various banks.
  • Following up on LCs or contracts for any amendments, additions, or deletions, and maintaining track records of all import consignments in transit.
  • Informing the sales department about all booked import consignments and managing LC maturity plans to ensure timely payments.
  • Coordinating with clearing agents to facilitate import clearance, notifying warehouses about expected import arrival dates, and making entries in software for LC openings, document payments, and import purchases.
  • Recording liabilities in software for clearing agents, insurance companies, and indenting commissions, processing payments and cheques, and preparing party reconciliation statements if required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year's experience in handling LC and import shipments.
  • A strong understanding of LCs, import regulations, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Location: Karachi Division, Pakistan. Remuneration: PKR 800,000 - PKR 1,200,000 per annum.
