Job Title: Freight Coordinator

About the Role

The Freight Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless and timely transportation of goods. This key position is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all aspects of the transportation process, from scheduling shipments to communicating with drivers and resolving any issues that may arise during transit.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Address and resolve any issues that may arise during transportation, such as traffic delays, breakdowns, or delivery discrepancies.
  2. Ensure accurate completion and processing of required documentation, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
  3. Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to customer inquiries and concerns, and updating them on the status of their shipments.
  4. Stay updated on relevant transportation regulations and ensure that all shipments comply with legal requirements.
  5. Use tracking software and systems to monitor the progress of shipments and provide real-time updates to stakeholders.
  6. Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations, such as on-time deliveries and cost metrics.
  7. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  8. Plan and optimize transportation routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  9. Schedule and assign shipments to available drivers and vehicles, taking into account delivery deadlines and customer requirements.
