**Job Title:** Psychosocial Support Specialist

Job Description:

The Roving Psychosocial Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting case management teams through identification, referral, and provision of mental health and psychosocial services. This position involves collaborating with community members, staff, and stakeholders to promote mental health integration into primary healthcare and achieve program objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, with at least one year of relevant experience in the field of social work. Previous NGO experience is desired. The specialist should possess strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to mobilize people to develop and maintain relationships with staff and communities.

This role involves:

  • Identifying families or individuals in need of psychosocial support or counseling through outreach activities and home visits to refugees and host communities.
  • Providing accurate referrals when needed, including referrals to supported PHCCs, local NGOs, and INGOs. The specialist will also disseminate information about various programs and services offered by IMC affiliates.
  • Coordinating the management of mental health referrals between community-based mental health care centers and mhGAP-supported primary healthcare centers or IMC MHPSS/health supported PHCCs.
  • Promoting the integration of mental health into primary healthcare at PHCs.
  • Conducting awareness sessions on Mental Health topics and providing reports on awareness raising and other PSS services containing information regarding attendance, age, gender, nationality, and impact on participants.
  • Providing psychoeducation sessions for MHPSS clients and their respective families.
  • Conducting interviews with service users (Refugees and host population) and their families to assess and review their situation and provide advice and referral as necessary.
  • Completing intake assessments, evaluations, treatment recommendations, reviews, and other documentation as necessary.
  • Conducting home visits to clients when needed.
  • Working closely with the MHPSS manager to support case management teams in implementing MHPSS activities.
  • Prioritizing trainings and team meetings as required by the direct supervisor.
  • Being well-integrated in the local community and having a good knowledge about the area, region, and its population.
  • Building close relationships with all active organizations in the area of operations and maintaining constant relationships.
  • Responsible for filling all relevant tools and maintaining regular updates in close coordination with the case management team.
