Key Responsibilities

The Deputy Chief Engineer oversees the application of non-destructive testing techniques on pipeline infrastructure.

Primary duties include supervising a team to ensure the integrity and reliability of critical infrastructure within the natural gas transmission system, as well as formulation, execution, and monitoring of agreements.

  • NDT Services Management: Organize third-party providers for impartial assessments of pipeline conditions, ensuring compliance with international standards and trained/certified inspectors.
  • Report Review and Analysis: Examine assessment data from service providers and verify accuracy.
  • Pipeline Integrity Monitoring: Ensure correct application of NDT testing techniques to detect defects early and guarantee pipeline safety.
  • Tender Evaluation and Technical Input: Review welding tenders, provide technical inputs, and approve method statements and standard operating procedures.
  • Quality Assurance and Supervision: Monitor third-party inspection and construction activities, supervise NDT activities, and implement quality assurance measures.
  • Critical Infrastructure Assessment: Conduct assessments using NDT techniques to evaluate structural integrity.
  • Pipeline Project Activities Monitoring: Oversee excavation, pigging, commissioning, and handover of pipeline projects.
  • Pre-qualification Tenders: Prepare documentation for inspections, NDT testing, welding, radiography, etc.
  • Project Finalization Documentation: Review project documents for finalization.
  • Transportation Agreement Coordination: Formulate and finalize technical aspects in coordination with Finance, Transmission, and Measurement departments.
  • Risk Management: Identify deviations, assess risks, develop response strategies, and monitor their implementation.
  • Audit and Compliance: Ensure timely risk reporting and adherence to contractual obligations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university.
  • At least 6 years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Registration mandatory.
