Operations Director - Manufacturing and Finishing Operations

About the Role:

This leadership position provides strategic direction to the manufacturing and finishing operations team at our Karachi Plant. As Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, cGMP, EHS and quality standards during production processes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Planning: Develop and monitor operational plans to optimize resource utilization, including materials, labor, and overheads.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure products are manufactured under conditions that meet Abbott Policies, EHS Standards, Regulatory and cGMP requirements.
  • Labor Laws and Compliance: Ensure adherence to labor laws, security standing orders, and the Code of Business Conduct.
  • Resource Allocation: Provide necessary resources (area, equipment, workforce) to produce high-quality products.
  • Training and Development: Organize initial and ongoing training for production personnel, including GMP training.
  • Manufacturing Technology: Provide strategic direction in manufacturing technology and equipment, ensuring maintenance and process validation.
  • Quality Coordination: Coordinate with Quality regarding QA audits, CAPA, complaints, ERs, market returns, and trend analysis reports.
  • Problem Resolution: Collaborate with QA, Regulatory, Technical Centre, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and ensure uninterrupted product deliveries.
Requirements:
  • Educational Qualifications: B.Pharm/Pharm.D degree.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing and finishing operations.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of drug rules, cGMP requirements, and quality standards.
  • Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, proven leadership qualities, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
