Procurement Leadership Role

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to lead our import/export operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to oversee all aspects of procurement, from strategy development to supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Sourcing and Planning: Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and export markets.
  2. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including customs requirements, tariffs, and trade agreements. Prepare and review import/export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, shipping documents, and certificates of origin.
  3. Supplier Relationship Management: Identify and evaluate international suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish partnerships. Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of imported goods.
  4. Logistics and Cost Management: Analyze import/export costs, including freight, duties, taxes, and insurance, to identify cost-saving opportunities. Manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other service providers to optimize logistics and minimize costs.
  5. Inventory Control and Quality Assurance: Coordinate with production and inventory teams to forecast demand and ensure timely availability of imported raw materials and components. Ensure imported raw materials and components meet quality standards and specifications.
  6. Leadership and Team Development: Lead and develop the import/export team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, international business, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. You should have at least 5 years of experience in import/export operations, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

You should have strong understanding of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade practices. Experience in managing import/export documentation and compliance requirements is essential. Knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding, and shipping processes is also required. Excellent negotiation and communication skills are necessary to succeed in this role.

Familiarity with import/export software and ERP systems is beneficial. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential for identifying and mitigating risks associated with import/export operations. Leadership skills and ability to lead a multicultural team are also crucial for success in this position.
