Job Summary:

The Senior Technical Director will lead and manage a team of researchers and program staff to deliver high-quality research outputs and contribute to the organization's mission. They will develop and implement a comprehensive research strategy that aligns with organizational priorities and local needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive research strategy that aligns with organizational priorities and local needs.
  2. Lead and manage a team of researchers and program staff to deliver high-quality research outputs and contribute to the organization's mission.
  3. Oversee the implementation of major programs in Pakistan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
  4. Develop and maintain partnerships with government, donors, and national and international NGOs to identify research opportunities and promote the utilization of research findings.
  5. Contribute to the development of policy briefs and research reports that inform decision-making and program interventions.
  6. Lead fundraising efforts to support the country strategy, reflecting organizational priorities and local needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Candidate preferred with Ph.D. or advanced degree in social science, medicine, statistics, or related field, with relevant training and extensive expertise in management of research.
  • More than ten years in leadership positions in an international setting or within Pakistan.
  • Proven ability in managing and administering a country-level program that addresses one or more of the four strategic priorities at the organization: Reproductive Health, Gender, Adolescents, and Climate Change and Environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with varied levels of national and international staff within a complex technical assistance organization.
  • Reputation for excellence in demographic or public health programs, through past positions and publications record.
  • Demonstrated skills in cultivating donors and raising funds for research and programs.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.
  • Effective decision-making and project management skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
