Job Title: Customs Compliance Manager

The role of a Customs Compliance Manager involves ensuring that all customs-related documents are accurately stored and updated in compliance with regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing customs and trade compliance across the organization, ensuring understanding of global regulations.
  • Determining Customs classifications and regulatory requirements (licenses, certificates, etc.).
  • Maintaining high compliance levels for customs and government agency requirements across all staff and teams.
  • Overseeing entry auditing and reporting results and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensuring company controls, policies, procedures, processes, and applications are understood by the team and implemented accordingly.
  • Completing internal audits as per client requirements and implementing action items.
  • Providing ongoing training on changing trade compliance policies through seminars and conferences.
  • Performing due diligence checks on new customers when required.
  • Verifying customer authorizations and keeping them up-to-date.
  • Managing the organization's interface with customs authorities.
  • Assisting in the implementation and control of new legislations issued by HMRC.
  • Supporting customers with AEO/Applications.
Key Requirements:
  • Excellent understanding of International Trade, Compliance, and Customs regulations.
  • Knowledge of BIS/ECO/EAR/ITAR regulations.
  • Previous experience in developing business policies and process governance within an international business.
  • Previous exposure to working alongside international government agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of export and import controls essential for this role.
  • AEO application experience beneficial for this role.
