About the Role
  • We need an accomplished Engineering Lead who can drive growth and success through strategic vision and effective leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a distributed backend engineering team, setting clear goals and driving execution towards seamless collaboration.
  • Translate business needs into a quarterly roadmap, ensuring alignment of estimates and architecture for scalable solutions.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, balancing workload while maintaining momentum on the roadmap and technical debt.
  • Participate actively in architectural discussions and collaborate with Product teams to design and develop new features.
  • Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews and feedback to ensure exceptional quality.
  • Handle complex, high-priority technical implementations with expertise and precision.
  • Oversee release and deployment processes to guarantee stability and reliability.
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and work to reduce errors proactively.
  • Conduct meaningful 1:1s, mentoring and coaching engineers to foster growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Communicate transparently with stakeholders to ensure alignment and trust.
  • Foster a motivated and collaborative team culture that drives innovation and excellence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent with strong theoretical foundations.
  • Proven experience in backend software development at scale with expertise in Java and Spring Framework.
  • Deep understanding of microservices and distributed systems with knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and AWS with track record of resolving technical and process bottlenecks.
  • Leadership skills with ability to motivate and manage diverse teams across multiple geographies.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills with ability to convey complex ideas simply.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience with error management, migrations, or scaling backend systems with attention to detail.
  • Background in e-commerce or large-scale platforms with exposure to emerging technologies is a plus.
