Job Overview

About the Team:

The NextGen Programme aims to develop engineers in supporting Quality Assurance functions, writing clean code, and applying SOLID principles. This programme covers various areas of engineering, including QA, Backend, Frontend, Web, Mobile, Data Analysis, MLOps, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security.

A Quality Engineer is required to support the QA function, review specifications, estimate testing time, facilitate test plan reviews, execute and evaluate test cases, triage bugs, participate in root cause analysis, ensure deliverables meet requirements, and contribute proactively in sprint ceremonies.

Qualifications:

  • A Computer Science degree or equivalent qualification/practical experience.
  • Minimum 2.5 years and maximum 4 years of experience in QA.
  • Testing certifications ISTQB - CTFL.

Characteristics:

  • Passionate about quality delivery and embracing a Quality testing mindset.
  • Solid understanding of QA/Testing technology including SDLC, STLC, and Defect life cycle.
  • Experience in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, and Java.
  • Ability to problem solve, multi-task effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of focus, task-oriented, and importantly, a team player.

Desirable Skills:

  • Practical knowledge and experience of test automation tools: Sofy, BDD, Maestro, JMeter, Postman, Rest-assured, and Selenium.
  • Practical knowledge in CICD pipelines and deployment processes in a cloud-based environment, in addition to tools such as Jenkins and Bitrise.
  • Practical knowledge and experience of distributed version control systems including GIT.
