Job Summary

This role presents an opportunity to leverage expertise in customs operational processes, including entry operations, tariff classification, customs valuation, and origin of goods.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the development and management of people, processes, systems, and external service providers supporting customs functions. They will also contribute to business planning activities, controversy resolution, and advocacy functions with government and industry forums.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage customs operational processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage a team of professionals supporting customs functions, providing guidance and oversight as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business, finance, legal, and tax teams, as well as outside counsel, on matters impacting customs activities.
  • Engage in business planning activities, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance customs operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in consulting services, particularly in border improvement projects.
  • Expertise in customs and trade facilitation, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Ability to develop and manage complex customs processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team, to achieve business objectives.
