Lead GIS Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead GIS Operations Specialist to drive our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) operations forward.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an exceptional individual who can lead our GIS team, design technical courses, market and promote our GIS services and products, monitor financial activity, participate in meetings, workshops and seminars, prepare reports, research software applications, and serve as liaison between providers and our organization.

  • Coordinate projects and activities to ensure compliance with established guidelines and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the GIS team to design technical courses for training personnel on computer applications according to client requirements.
  • Market and promote our GIS services and products to expand our customer base.
  • Monitor fund balances and financial activity to ensure accurate allocations and expenses within budget limits.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars to gather and convey information required for successful project execution.
  • Prepare reports, memos, letters, procedures, and manuals to document activities and provide written references.
  • Research software applications and hardware requirements to provide recommendations for product development and procurement.
  • Serve as liaison between software/hardware providers and our organization to facilitate communication and coordinate activities.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a Graduate degree in Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, or Geophysics with basic knowledge of GIS software. Additionally, you should have residency in the COMSATS Abbottabad campus area or willingness to relocate, and experience in GIS projects and related fields.
