Job Summary:

This is a critical role that oversees the planning, construction, and maintenance of distribution pipeline networks to ensure efficient and safe operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the development of comprehensive strategies and objectives for pipeline networks in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Development: Develop strategic plans and objectives for pipeline network design, construction, and maintenance, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise a team of engineers responsible for pipeline project planning, execution, and monitoring, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate with regulatory authorities and government agencies to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for pipeline projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Pipeline Design and Engineering: Oversee the design and engineering of pipeline systems, including route selection, pipeline sizing, material selection, and hydraulic/flow tests and analysis, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and specifications.
  • Procurement Management: Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for pipeline projects, including vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and resource allocation, to ensure timely project execution.
  • Project Monitoring and Control: Monitor the progress and performance of pipeline projects, tracking key metrics such as project milestones, budget expenditures, resource utilization, and quality control measures.
  • Audit and Inspection: Conduct regular site inspections and audits of pipeline facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational procedures.
  • Operational Challenges: Address operational challenges, customer complaints, and service disruptions related to pipeline networks.
  • Industry Partnerships: Maintain relationships with external partners, contractors, consultants, and industry organizations to stay abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations to senior management and executive leadership on pipeline projects, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.

Note: This job requires an Engineering graduate from a recognized university with at least 6 years of experience and registration with a professional engineering council is mandatory.
