Job Title: Finance Operations Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Finance Operations Specialist. The role involves providing administrative support to the finance department, ensuring efficient and effective financial management practices are in place.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review of payment requests (invoices, bills, purchase requisitions, etc.) for compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Follow up with staff for incomplete documentation to ensure seamless transaction processing.
  • Enter transactions into financial software (SHF) accurately and efficiently.
  • Review staff claims for compliance and process payments accordingly.
  • Filing transaction vouchers for easy retrieval as needed.
  • Support local chapters as required.
  • Salary processing and dealing with banks.
Petty Cash Management
  • Handle petty cash payments, maintain appropriate liquid cash, and replenish as necessary.
Audit Support
  • Provide documentation to internal and external auditors upon request.
  • Explain transaction details to auditors as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: MBA or M.Com/MS in Accounting, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience: Two or three years of hands-on experience in a similar capacity within an NGO/INGO.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Time Management: Ability to apply analytical skills in developing long-term and short-term plans, manage multiple tasks, and workload effectively.
  • Teamwork: Proven track record of fostering teamwork and performing effectively in a team.
  • Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal skills, including creating a climate of trust and transparency.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
