Oracle/SQL Specialist

The purpose of this role is to support the development manager in planning and administering product support and development.

To achieve this, you will be responsible for designing solutions, setting up systems, and maintaining them to resolve issues and enhancement requests.

Your key results areas will include:

  1. Product assurance, solution design and setup, issue supporting and release execution
  2. Product specialization, and maintenance of the Product Roadmap and Product Backlog tools

We are looking for functional and technical experts in Oracle/SQL for positions ranging from Consultant to Project Manager.

You will work alongside senior business and IT stakeholders of our clients to understand their business requirements and contribute to the design and implementation of Oracle-based solutions.

Your responsibilities may include:

  1. Collaborating with key client business and IT users to define business requirements and design solutions
  2. Providing subject matter expertise on Oracle/SQL
  3. Managing process redesign, technical and test teams, and change activities

Candidates with team leadership experience may also be responsible for identifying and managing stakeholder expectations, leading project lifecycle management, and delivering projects on time and to budget.

This role requires experience working on large-scale, high-profile, and complex Oracle/SQL implementation programmes.

You should have a solid understanding of project management methodologies, client-facing experience, and deep Oracle/SQL functional or technical architecture expertise.

Key features of your profile include:

  • Oracle Applications 11i and Release 12 experience, SQL 2008 and previous versions, and knowledge of some or all Oracle HRMS modules
  • Techno-functional skills such as familiarity with the Oracle Apps schema, workflow, SQL, TOAD, etc.

A minimum of 5-8 years' experience in Oracle HRMS implementation or upgrade projects, including requirements gathering, fit/gap analysis, functional design documentation, user acceptance testing, training, and deployment activities.

A Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience is required. A consulting background and exposure to project management methodologies are preferred.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.

In addition, you should be a strong team player and have team leadership skills for project lead roles.

Requirements:

  • At least 2.1 Bachelors Degree or relevant experience
  • Preferably a consulting background
  • Experience of at least 2 end-to-end Oracle HRMS implementation project lifecycles
  • Exposure to Project Management methodologies
  • Strong team player (proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment) and team leadership skills (for Project Lead roles)
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
