To strengthen our Supply Chain Division, we are looking for a dynamic and skilled professional to join our Imports Department.

Assistant Manager – Imports

Department:
Supply Chain / Procurement

Reporting To:
Manager – Supply Chain / Head of Imports

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute end-to-end
    import operations,
    including documentation, shipment coordination, customs clearance, and supplier communication.
  • Liaise with
    suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing agents
    to ensure timely and cost-effective import of raw materials, machinery, and spare parts.
  • Monitor
    LC (Letter of Credit)
    processes, TT payments, insurance coverage, and bank documentation in coordination with the Finance Department.
  • Ensure compliance with
    FBR, Customs, SBP
    , and other regulatory bodies for import-related matters.
  • Maintain updated records of shipments, import costs, and vendor performance.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as
    Production, Maintenance, and Accounts
    to align import schedules with operational requirements.
  • Track global market trends, freight rates, and currency fluctuations to support cost optimization.
  • Prepare periodic reports on
    import status, cost analysis, and lead times
    for management review.
  • Assist in vendor evaluation and development for international sourcing.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    4–6 years of relevant experience in
    import operations
    , preferably within a
    manufacturing, foundry, or steel industry
    .
  • Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of
    import documentation, HS codes, and customs procedures
    .
  • Familiarity with
    LC, INCOTERMS, shipping procedures, and trade compliance
    .
  • Skills:
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in
    MS Office
    and ERP systems.
