Import Operations & Logistics Management

  • Manage the complete import lifecycle including vendor communication, order placement, shipment tracking, and delivery scheduling.
  • Oversee customs clearance processes by coordinating with customs brokers and government authorities.
  • Monitor shipment status and ensure prompt clearance at ports and liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, local transporters, and internal departments for smooth movement of goods.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Verify and manage import documentation including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, LCs, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Form-E, NOCs, and Chamber Attestations.
  • Ensure compliance with import laws, and regulatory requirements under Pakistan Customs and international trade laws.
  • Ensure that records and filing systems for all import documentation are effectively maintained, both digitally and physically.
  • Supervise ERP system to ensure accurate data entry and monitoring of all transactions and records.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Negotiate with vendors and freight forwarders to optimize import costs.
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Accounts departments to manage supplier ledgers, tax invoices, foreign remittances, and customs duties.
  • Liaise with banks regarding Letters of Credit, customs duties, trade finance instruments, and foreign remittances.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of bank documentation for import payments and contracts.

Compliance, Audit & Policy Awareness

  • Maintain full compliance with international trade laws, INCOTERMS, and HS Codes.
  • Ensure documentation readiness for internal audits.
  • Stay updated with evolving customs laws, global trade policies, and advise management accordingly.

Team Development and Performance Monitoring:

  • Lead, train, and mentor a team and implement training programs to improve the team's performance and imports knowledge.
  • Provide continuous coaching and performance evaluations to ensure individual growth and maximize team potential.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and motivation.
  • Monitor and track the progress of team performance, and customer satisfaction through periodical reports.
  • Ensure that the team submits regular reports on project status, sales leads, market conditions, and competitor activity.
  • And any other assignment / responsibilities given by Supervisor from time to time.
