Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Import Manager, located in Karachi. The Assistant Import Manager will handle day-to-day operations related to import activities, including liaising with suppliers, coordinating shipments, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and managing necessary documentation. The role also involves customer service duties and collaborating with the logistics team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Import, and Import processes
  • 2 Years of experience or more
  • Exceptional Candidates can be considered.
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Knowledge of Ocean shipping and logistics
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Managed end-to-end LC documentation
     including application, amendments, and negotiation with banks to facilitate smooth import transactions.
  • Coordinated with suppliers, banks, and clearing agents
     to ensure compliance with import regulations and timely release of goods.
  • Prepared and reviewed shipping documents
     (BL, invoices, packing lists, COO, etc.) in line with LC terms to minimize discrepancies.
  • Monitored LC opening, payments, and retirement schedules
     to align with company cash flows.
  • Liaised with internal finance and external banks
     to negotiate favorable LC terms and credit lines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in the FMCG sector is a plus
