Mid AR/VR Game Developer

We are seeking a skilled 
AR/VR and Game Developer
 to join our team, a cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) initiative focused on delivering immersive scavenger hunt experiences. The developer will be responsible for building and maintaining the AR mobile app, integrating AR SDKs, and ensuring seamless performance across platforms. This role requires expertise in Unity, AR frameworks, and modern development practices to create engaging, scalable, and secure AR experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• AR App Development
  : Design, develop, and maintain the AR mobile app (iOS/Android) using 
  Unity
   and 
  Lightship ARDK
   (with ARKit/ARCore fallback) to deliver interactive AR experiences, such as scavenger hunts with geo-fenced triggers and real-time rendering.
• AR SDK Integration
  : Integrate and optimize 
  ARCore
  , 
  ARKit
  , and 
  Lightship ARDK
   for features like world tracking, asset rendering, occlusion, and shared AR sessions, ensuring compatibility across various user devices.
• Image Recognition and Processing
  : Implement 
  Google ML Kit
   and custom models (e.g., via 
  Roboflow
  ) for on-device and cloud-based image/object recognition to detect campaign-specific spots and trigger AR interactions.
• API Integration
  : Connect the AR app to the client's 
  API Gateway
   (REST/GraphQL) for secure data relay, integrating with the Learning Management System (LMS) for campaign logic, points, and rewards.
• Performance Optimization
  : Ensure app compatibility and optimize performance across diverse hardware, minimizing latency and enhancing user experience for AR rendering and interactions.
• Model Deployment
  : Deploy trained AR configurations (e.g., reference images/ML models) to the app via updates or cloud downloads, collaborating with the AR Model Trainer pipeline.
• Collaboration
  : Work closely with the backend team ), database administrators (PostgreSQL/MongoDB), and admin panel developers ) to ensure seamless integration and data flow.
• Testing and Maintenance
  : Conduct rigorous testing on various devices, handle app updates, and maintain SDKs/models to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Documentation
  : Provide clear documentation and guides for app functionality, SDK integration, and troubleshooting to support client usage and future development.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in 
  Unity
   and 
  C#
   for cross-platform AR/game development, with experience in 
  AR Foundation
   for ARKit/ARCore unification.
• Hands-on experience with 
  ARCore
  , 
  ARKit
  , or 
  Lightship ARDK
   for AR features like visual positioning systems (VPS), meshing, and occlusion.
• Knowledge of 
  Google ML Kit
   or similar for on-device/cloud image recognition; experience with 
  Roboflow
   or 
  TensorFlow Lite
   for custom model integration is a plus.
• Familiarity with 
  REST/GraphQL
   APIs and secure communication protocols (e.g., JWT, HTTPS).
• Experience with mobile development (Swift/Kotlin) for native integrations, if needed.
• Development Tools
  :
• Strong understanding of

   or 
  Python (FastAPI)
   for backend integration.
• Experience with database systems like 
  PostgreSQL

   for AR asset storage.
• Familiarity with

• Excellent communication skills to document processes and provide client-facing guides.

Experience
:

• 3+ years of experience in AR/VR or game development, with at least 1+ years working on AR mobile apps.
• Proven track record of delivering scalable, user-facing applications, preferably in AR or gaming.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., 
  AWS EC2
  , 
  S3
  , 
  Lambda
  ) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building AR scavenger hunt or location-based applications.
• Familiarity with 
  Roboflow
   for training custom computer vision models.
• Knowledge of 
  React

   for potential contributions to the admin dashboard.
• Understanding of 
  AWS
   services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) for hosting and scalability.
• Previous work on projects integrating 
  Lightship ARDK
   for shared AR experiences or VPS.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
