Purpose of the Role

The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions using Oracle NetSuite Analytics Warehouse (NSAW) and other BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau. The role focuses on integrating data from NetSuite ERP and external sources, building interactive dashboards, and delivering actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities1. BI Development & Reporting

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI / Tableau / QlikView, with a focus on extending expertise to NSAW (Oracle Analytics Cloud).
  • Build and maintain data models, KPIs, and performance scorecards across business functions.
  • Provide self-service BI capabilities while ensuring accuracy, governance, and security.

2. Data Analysis & Insights

  • Gather business requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
  • Analyze financial, operational, and academic trends to support strategic decisions.
  • Deliver insights through visual storytelling and executive dashboards.

3. Data Management & Integration

  • Work with IT teams to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from NetSuite ERP and other systems (CRM, HRMS, LMS, Marketing tools).
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across reporting platforms.
  • Document data flows, transformation rules, and reporting processes.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Finance, Academics, Marketing, HR, and Operations teams to deliver department-specific dashboards.
  • Train end-users on BI tools (Power BI/NSAW) and provide ongoing support.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data and reporting requests.

5. Optimization & Innovation

  • Optimize SQL queries, data models, and dashboards for performance and usability.
  • Continuously improve BI solutions by leveraging new features in NSAW and Power BI.
  • Recommend best practices for BI adoption across the organization.

ualifications & SkillsEducation

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field.

Core Skills (Must-Have)

  • Proficiency in at least one major BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView).
  • Strong SQL querying and data modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (fact/dimension tables, star schema).
  • Experience with multi-source data integration and ETL processes.

Preferred / Advantageous Skills (Nice-to-Have / Trainable)

  • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite ERP data models (finance, operations, CRM).
  • Exposure to Oracle NetSuite Analytics Warehouse (NSAW) and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).
  • Experience with Oracle Data Integrator or similar ETL tools.
  • Understanding of cloud BI environments, security, and governance.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to translate business needs into BI solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Attention to detail and focus on data accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new BI technologies (e.g., NSAW) quickly.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in BI development, data analysis, or analytics.
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports.
  • Exposure to large datasets and multiple data sources.
