Job Summary:

Responsibilities include Design, Deploy, Maintain, Administrate, Backup/Restore & Secure the complete database needs of the company using Oracle as primary product. Assuring Optimized Performance, best possible RTP & RPO, and Continuous Enhancement & Integrated SLA Management for complete database operation across functions and systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

‍· Controlling access to the database by setting appropriate roles managing ACL.

· Controlling data security, including preventing unauthorized access to the data and protecting against other security threats.

· Monitoring, Tuning and ensuring that the database is running to optimal levels

· Direct the Backup and Recovery strategy of the group to ensure that disaster recovery, business continuity and protection of critical data service level agreements are both met as well as improved.

· Installation and configure new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database.

· Design and implement DR solutions

· Design and implement 12c RAC and Data-guard over RAC solutions.

· Help create documentation of every aspect of Database Management Systems including hardware configuration and maintenance records.

· Prepare the roadmap and implementation plan for the migration and upgrade of current RDBMS version.

· Create UAT Environment for development and testing purpose.

· Configure and schedule database job and auto alerts and notification.

· Adhere to all BCP & DRP roles including Supporting ITSM Services, RCA support to DAS Team, Driving the end to end recovery of systems and effective maintenance of RTO

‍Requirements and Skills

  • ‍Proficiency in SQL and SQL server tool
  • Advanced understanding of database security, backup and recovery, Disaster Recovery and performance monitoring requirements
  • PowerShell and Unix shell scripting abilities are required.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server infrastructures
  • Thorough understanding of database technologies (MySQL ,Oracle)
  • Database Patching using opatch and opatchauto
  • Knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM, and Active Data Guard.
  • Extensive knowledge of database standards and end-user applications and the ability to translate capacity needs into infrastructure deployment technologies.· Solid understanding on Oracle Advance technologies i.e. Real Application Cluster, Advance Security, Advance Compression, Encryption, and load testing.
  • Backup & Recovery (hot & cold backup).
  • Oracle Dataguard (Physical standby / Active ) configuration
  • Oracle Databases patch management
  • Performance Tuning

‍‍Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • +6 years
  • Proficient in Oracle RAC Database 10g, 11g, 12c and Dataguard Including Active & Cascade
  • Oracle Enterprise Linux, Redhat Enterprise Linux, IBM AIX etc.
  • This is full time job based in Karachi.
