We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing & Insurance Specialist to support a rheumatology practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full revenue cycle process including insurance verification, prior authorizations, medical coding, and billing. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement while supporting quality patient care.

-Key Responsibilities:

1)Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to patient appointments

2)Obtain and track prior authorizations for neurological procedures, diagnostics, and medications

3)Accurately apply CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation

4)Prepare and submit clean insurance claims in a timely manner

5)Monitor claims for denials or rejections and follow up on unpaid or denied claims

6)Communicate effectively with patients and insurance companies

7)Assist with virtual patient scheduling, messages, and documentation

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing and virtual medical assistant roles
  • Proficient in EHR systems (e.g., Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, etc.)
  • Familiarity with rheumatology or internal medicine preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Note- This is a full time remote role, Mon-Fri(6PM-3AM)
