Job Title: Senior Backend Developer

Location: DHA Phase 5, Lahore

Experience Required: Minimum 5 years

Working Hours: 6:00pm to 3:00am

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems that support our growing applications and services. This role requires deep expertise in backend programming using Ruby, Java, Python, and C/C++, along with strong knowledge of databases, API design, and system architecture. As a senior member of the team, you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and ensure best practices in coding, security, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Backend Development: Architect, design, and implement complex server-side applications and APIs using Ruby, Java, Python, and C/C++.
  • System Architecture: Lead the design of scalable and maintainable system architectures, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Database Design & Optimization: Develop, optimize, and manage relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
  • API Development: Build and maintain secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs; ensure seamless integration with frontend and third-party services.
  • Performance Tuning: Identify performance bottlenecks and implement code and system-level optimizations.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce backend security best practices for authentication, authorization, and data protection.
  • Code Quality & Testing: Oversee code reviews, maintain coding standards, and ensure comprehensive testing (unit, integration, automation).
  • Collaboration: Partner with product managers, DevOps, and frontend teams to deliver reliable solutions on time.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior developers, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for backend systems and processes.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in backend development.
  • Proven expertise in at least two of the following: Ruby, Java, Python, C/C++.
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong database design and optimization skills.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
  • Expertise in developing and scaling RESTful APIs and services.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Proficiency with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
