Position Overview

QMCC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant – Inventory to join our Finance & Inventory team. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of inventory-related accounting functions. The Senior Accountant will oversee the reporting, reconciliation, and analysis of all inventory activities across multiple business units.

Given the expanded responsibilities and operational pressures—particularly around month-end closing, year-end audits, and the ongoing SAGE integration—this role will support seamless financial operations and ensure timely, accurate inventory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Accounting & Reporting

Prepare timely and accurate monthly inventory reports for all business units.

Ensure the integrity of inventory balances through regular reconciliations between Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Finance systems.

Lead month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory accounting.

Analyze inventory trends, valuation adjustments, and cost variances.

Coordinate with warehouse teams to validate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.

Operational & Manufacturing Support

Support daily manufacturing accounting activities, including consumption posting, adjustments, and BOM (Bill of Materials) validations.

Work closely with warehouse teams to manage receipts, transfers, adjustments, and discrepancies.

Review and validate landed cost calculations and ensure accurate posting in the system.

Audit & Compliance

Provide full support during year-end audit, especially with respect to inventory schedules, adjustments, and supporting documentation.

Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all inventory-related activities.

Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies.

Systems & Integration

Play an active role in the SAGE ERP integration, ensuring the correct mapping of inventory processes and accuracy of data migration.

Identify system gaps, propose improvements, and support automation of manual processes.

Collaborate with IT and ERP consultants to ensure inventory accounting requirements are met.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth inventory flow.

Support leadership teams with ad-hoc reporting, costing analysis, and decision-making insights.

Assist in developing SOPs for inventory accounting, reporting, and control enhancement.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional qualifications (ACCA, CA Inter, CPA, CMA) preferred.

Experience

5–7 years of proven experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance.

Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution industries is strongly preferred.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAGE ERP experience is a plus).

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of accounting principles related to inventory valuation (FIFO, Weighted Average, etc.).

Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Data Analysis).

Experience in inventory costing, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
