Senior Accountant (ACCA - UK Market Experience) – Join Our Client Team

Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in UK accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing
UK payroll, VAT returns, year-end statutory filings
, and bookkeeping. This role requires accuracy, accountability, and a deep understanding of UK compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax submissions.
  • Manage UK payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Handle VAT returns, reconciliations, and compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping, including sales and purchase ledgers, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Perform month-end and quarter-end closings and reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure all financial records are accurate, up to date, and comply with UK accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and assist with audit preparation.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 1.5 to 3+ years of hands-on experience in UK accounting and taxation.
  • Solid understanding of UK payroll, VAT, and year-end statutory accounts.
  • Proficient in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with Iris and TaxCalc software is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACCA, ACA, or similar accounting qualification (part or fully qualified).
  • Prior experience in a UK-based accounting firm or working with UK clients.
