We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Executive – US Payroll to take ownership of payroll compliance and ensure the accurate processing of payroll taxes across Federal, State, and Local levels. This role requires in-depth expertise in U.S. payroll taxation, including IRS regulations, FICA, Medicare, FUTA, state-specific laws, and multi-jurisdictional requirements. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject-matter expert in payroll tax compliance, with proven experience in employee and contractor reporting (W-2, 1099).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage 
    end-to-end U.S. payroll tax compliance
     across Federal, State, and Local jurisdictions.
  • Ensure full adherence to 
    IRS payroll tax regulations
    , including FICA, Medicare, FUTA, and state-specific requirements.
  • Prepare, file, and reconcile 
    Federal and State payroll tax returns
    , deposits, and quarterly/annual reports.
  • Accurately classify and report both employees and independent contractors (
    W-2, 1099
    ).
  • Monitor compliance with 
    multi-state payroll tax obligations
    , including SUTA and local payroll taxes.
  • Lead and support payroll tax audits, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Partner with 
    Finance, HR, and Compliance teams
     to resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll tax records in line with IRS and state requirements.
  • Stay informed on 
    legislative and regulatory changes
     in payroll taxation and recommend necessary system or process updates.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior payroll team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in 
    Accounting, Finance, Taxation
    , or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum 
    3 years of hands-on experience
     in U.S. payroll taxation and compliance, with exposure to 
    multi-state payroll
    .
  • Strong knowledge of 
    IRS payroll regulations
    , FICA, Medicare, FUTA, and state-specific payroll laws.
  • Proficiency in 
    W-2 and 1099 reporting
     with proven year-end reconciliation experience.
  • Skilled in using 
    ERP and payroll systems
     (e.g., ADP, Workday, Oracle) and advanced 
    MS Excel
    .
  • Strong 
    analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
     with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with experience guiding junior staff.
  • Proven track record of managing 
    multiple priorities and strict deadlines
     in a fast-paced environment.
