The Clinical Assistant provides essential support to medical professionals by performing administrative and clinical tasks in a healthcare setting. This role ensures that patient care is delivered efficiently, with compassion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and prepare patients for examination or procedures.
  • Record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
  • Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and minor procedures.
  • Maintain and update patient medical records accurately.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient check-in/check-out processes.
  • Prepare examination rooms, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning equipment.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens (e.g., blood, urine) for testing.
  • Ensure the availability and restocking of medical supplies.
  • Provide patients with instructions for medications, care, and follow-up as directed.
  • Adhere to all healthcare regulations, including patient confidentiality (HIPAA or relevant local laws).

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Certificate or diploma in Clinical Assistance, Medical Assisting, or a related field (preferred).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or required depending on the setting).
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
