About the Position

The
Lead – Production Maintenance
is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance of all equipment used in the manufacturing, inspection, testing, and packaging of hard gelatin capsules. This role is equally split between hands-on technical work (50%) and managerial oversight (50%), leading a team of engineers and technicians to achieve production targets in a safe, efficient, and GMP-compliant environment. The position demands strong troubleshooting skills, preventive maintenance expertise, and strict adherence to GMP, EHS, and data integrity standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform routine, corrective, and preventive maintenance of production equipment, including gelatin melting systems, color mixing units, capsule manufacturing machines, and QA/QC instruments.
  • Apply root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve breakdowns promptly and prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans through
    SAP Maintenance Modules
    , ensuring accurate documentation and inspection readiness.
  • Track and report KPIs such as breakdown rates, PM compliance, and equipment efficiency.
  • Manage spare parts inventory via SAP and coordinate with procurement, stores, and vendors.
  • Lead and organize team schedules, providing technical support when needed.
  • Maintain updated technical documentation, SOPs, and equipment checklists.
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum
    8 years
    of maintenance experience in Food, FMCG, or Pharmaceutical industries, with
    2+ years
    in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of production and inspection equipment, mechanical/electrical schematics, and preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Proficient in SAP for maintenance planning and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
