About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Business Developer Consultant with deep expertise in Upwork strategy and optimization. This role focuses on enabling company to maximize their Upwork presence, ensuring profiles, proposals, and positioning are optimized to attract and convert more clients. You will not be responsible for directly closing deals, but instead for creating the right foundation, strategy, and systems that empower our sales and delivery teams to secure projects consistently.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit and optimize company Upwork profiles/domains to improve visibility and client trust.

  • Develop proposal templates, pitch strategies, and positioning guidelines tailored to target industries.

  • Provide strategic guidance on pricing models, project categorization, and Upwork algorithms.

  • Train internal sales teams on best practices for client engagement and proposal writing.

  • Identify market trends and competitive opportunities within Upwork to refine strategy.

  • Monitor performance metrics (e.g., profile ranking, proposal acceptance rate) and recommend improvements.

  • Build a repeatable system for lead generation and qualification through Upwork.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, with strong focus on Upwork strategy and optimization.

  • Proven track record of scaling Upwork accounts and helping companies secure consistent projects.

  • Deep understanding of Upwork algorithms, profile ranking, and bidding systems.

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills to translate strategies into actionable processes.

  • Excellent communication skills for training and guiding internal teams.

  • Experience in IT services, SaaS, mobile, or web development industries (preferred).
