We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist to join our medical billing team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining prior authorizations, and maintaining accurate records to ensure efficient billing and claims processing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a solid understanding of payer requirements, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesInsurance Verification & Eligibility

  • Verify patient insurance benefits through payer portals or by contacting insurance representatives directly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date eligibility information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system (e.g., eClinicalWorks).
  • Complete and upload insurance verification forms promptly for all new patients.
  • Communicate estimated out-of-pocket costs to patients clearly and professionally.
  • Escalate unresolved coverage or balance concerns to the Patient Collections team.
  • Proactively follow up with patients to obtain missing or updated insurance information.

Authorizations & Compliance

  • Obtain prior authorizations for services requiring insurance pre-approval.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid and other payer-specific authorization requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Patient Services team to address out-of-network cases.
  • Secure authorizations for psychological evaluations while maintaining accurate documentation and system alerts.

Operational Support & Coordination

  • Support same-day or urgent appointment scheduling to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Report discrepancies related to billing, payer policies, or provider network status.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to resolve incomplete intake documentation.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Billing Manager to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance overall efficiency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs40, Rs70,000.00 per month
