Role Description

The Finance Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing accurate reporting to guide strategic decision-making. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial management principles. Finance Specialists work across teams to monitor budgets, manage accounts, and provide insights that contribute to the long-term financial health of the organization. They play an essential role in safeguarding assets, optimizing costs, and supporting leadership in planning and forecasting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering and analyzing relevant data.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audit processes.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital allocation to support business operations.
  • Support strategic decision-making by providing financial models and scenario analyses.
  • Review and optimize existing financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide recommendations to senior management on cost control, investments, and risk management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with company policies.
  • Utilize financial systems and tools to enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align financial practices with business objectives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Specialist, Financial Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and regulatory standards (IFRS, GAAP).
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or advanced Excel.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of risk management and investment principles is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or ACCA are an advantage.
