Role Overview

The Associate Yarn Sourcing will be responsible for supporting the yarn procurement process by identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating pricing, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining quality standards. The role requires close coordination with internal teams (planning, production, quality) and external vendors to ensure uninterrupted supply of yarn aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing yarn sourcing strategies aligned with production and business needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard yarn suppliers, both local and international.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders, resolve supply chain issues, and maintain quality standards.
  • Conduct market research to track yarn price trends, availability, and new product developments.
  • Support negotiations on price, lead times, and payment terms to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Work closely with production, planning, and quality teams to align supply with demand forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance (quality, delivery, compliance) and share regular reports with management.
  • Ensure compliance with company sourcing policies and ethical standards.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support in cost analysis, budget preparation, and supplier audits.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of yarn types, blends, and quality specifications.
  • Understanding of textile sourcing and supply chain processes.
  • Negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ERP knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in yarn sourcing, textile procurement, or supply chain (preferably in a textile manufacturing setup).
  • Fresh graduates with relevant internships may also be considered.
