Assistant Manager Internal Audit (construction) | Islamabad | Full-Time

The
Assistant Manager – Internal Audit (Construction)
will be responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on internal audits related to construction projects, procurement, cost control, and compliance. This role requires strong analytical and reporting skills, deep understanding of internal controls in the construction and real estate sectors, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-border teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing the
    annual internal audit plan
    for construction and development operations.
  • Conduct
    risk-based internal audits
    of construction sites, project budgets, procurement, and contract management.
  • Evaluate the
    effectiveness of internal controls
    , cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review
    vendor selection, procurement processes, and payment approvals
    to identify gaps or potential risks.
  • Prepare and present
    audit findings and recommendations
    to management with practical, actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and project teams to
    monitor implementation of corrective actions
    .
  • Conduct
    cost variance analysis
    and ensure financial discipline in project budgets and expenditures.
  • Assist in establishing
    best practices for project governance and internal controls
    aligned with UK standards.
  • Maintain
    accurate audit documentation
    and ensure confidentiality of company records.
  • Support
    special investigations or ad hoc reviews
    as requested by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • CA/ACCA/ICMA (Part or Fully Qualified) preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 – 6 years
    of experience in internal audit, preferably within
    construction, real estate development, or contracting
    industries.
  • Experience in project audits, cost control, or procurement reviews will be a strong advantage.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, financial analysis, and audit methodologies
    .
  • Proficient in
    Excel, audit software, and ERP systems
    (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with international stakeholders.
