Job Opportunity: Assistant Manager – Import

Location: Karachi

Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field (HEC recognized institute/university)

Experience: 1–4 years

Preferred Age Range: 26–29 years

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and verify all documentation related to imports and general procurement.
  • Oversee daily import operations, ensuring timely and cost-efficient execution.
  • Accurately calculate landed costs for machine parts and other items using HS codes.
  • Source, evaluate, and develop international and local vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Ensure strict compliance with trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal company policies.
  • Track pending orders, follow up with suppliers, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Prepare and present monthly procurement and import performance reports to senior management.
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations, checks, and reporting in line with company standards.
  • Identify risks or bottlenecks in procurement/import processes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with customer service, sales, and warehouse teams to resolve issues and maintain smooth workflows.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and clients, addressing concerns proactively.
  • Coordinate with Accounts and Administration teams for sales invoices, duty/purchase invoices, and approvals.
  • Handle accounting-related queries linked to imports and procurement transactions.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in import documentation, landed cost calculation, vendor management, and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and related business applications.
  • Excellent analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities for vendor and stakeholder management.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs150, Rs200,000.00 per month
