About Position:

PYXiS Software Group

, a wholly owned portfolio of the Jonas Operating Group of Constellation Software (TSX: CSU), is seeking a highly motivated Sales Tax Accountant to join our growing finance in the Contour Software, Karachi Office. It is an important supportive role. The successful candidate should be able to accurately maintain and perform sales tax filings, reconciliation, and tax research. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills are essential as the ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file accurate and timely sales and use tax returns (USA), GST/HST (Canada).

• Sales tax rate updates in the accounting ERP, sales tax accounts reconciliations.

• Recording sales tax payments on a timely basis.

• Perform Sales Tax Nexus analysis, research product taxability and tax laws.

• Process new sales tax registrations for the states where needed.

• Contacting Tax departments to resolve sales tax notices, questions, and discrepancies via phone. This also includes responding to letters/requests from the various States/Cities.

• Assist with inquiries from internal customers regarding sales tax issues.

• Develop and propose process improvements/automation.

• Collaborate with internal PYXiS departments to ensure tax compliance.

• This task is high-volume in nature and requires an emphasis on accuracy.

• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualification and Skill:

• Finalist or part qualified Professional qualification (ACCA / ICAP or ICMA), post-secondary education with a focus on business /accounting or equivalent work experience.

• 3+ years of accounting experience.

• Familiar with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures. Working knowledge of GAAP & IFRS and tax software (Vertex, Avalara & TaxJar) is a plus.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O) or Great Plains an asset.

• Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle multiple assignments, work effectively under pressure and work well in a team environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Outlook

• Attention to detail and accuracy.
