Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pizza Chef / Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in making handcrafted pizzas, working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and maintaining high food quality standards. You will be responsible for preparing pizza dough, assembling pizzas, managing the pizza oven, and supporting other kitchen operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook pizzas according to recipes and customer specifications.
  • Make fresh dough, sauces, and other ingredients from scratch or semi-prepped.
  • Operate pizza ovens (wood-fired, gas, or electric) and ensure proper cooking times and temperatures.
  • Monitor food stock and replenish ingredients as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, including food prep areas and equipment.
  • Assist in food prep and cooking tasks outside of pizza station when necessary.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate orders.
  • Take pride in presentation and consistency of food served.
  • Adapt to new menu items or changes in recipes or procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or Line Cook in a restaurant or pizzeria setting.
  • Familiarity with various styles of pizza (e.g., Neapolitan, New York-style, thin crust).
  • Ability to stretch dough by hand and use a peel with precision.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene.
  • Strong work ethic, multitasking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy shifts.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary training or certification is a plus.
  • Experience with wood-fired or specialty ovens.
  • Knife skills and basic knowledge of Italian cuisine.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment.
