Role

The Travel BDM is responsible for driving sales growth by acquiring new corporate travel accounts and developing long-term business relationships. The role focuses on identifying opportunities, delivering tailored travel solutions, and maximizing revenue for the company.

Key Responsibilities

  1. New Business Acquisition

  2. Identify and target potential corporate clients through research, networking, and referrals.

  3. Create and deliver tailored proposals to meet each client's travel requirements.
  4. Negotiate contracts and close new business deals.

  5. Account Development

  6. Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing corporate clients.

  7. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through proactive account management.

  8. Strategic Planning

  9. Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with company goals.

  10. Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform business decisions.

  11. Collaboration

  12. Work closely with operations, finance, and travel consultant teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

  13. Coordinate with marketing for campaigns, events, and promotional initiatives.

  14. Reporting & Performance Tracking

  15. Maintain accurate sales pipeline and activity reports in CRM systems.

  16. Provide regular updates to senior management on progress against targets.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Proven sales or business development experience, ideally in corporate travel, TMC (Travel Management Company), or hospitality.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the corporate travel sector.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Travel & Tourism, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant sales/business development experience.
  • Knowledge of GDS systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre) is an advantage.

Performance Metrics

  • New client accounts won and retained.
  • Revenue generated from new and existing corporate travel accounts.
  • Achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
