Introduction to Organization and Position:

Integral Global (IG) is an organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, with local offices in Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Tanzania. This position of Senior Field Support Officer/Epidemiologist, under the overall guidance of the Senior CDC IG Advisor, technical supervision of Advanced Analytics Team Lead and direct supervision of Provincial Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) Coordinator Sindh, shall be part of the Advanced Analytics team in Sindh PEOC for the Polio Eradication Initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance to the Sindh province for Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) in terms of real time identification of hotspots of viral transmission, identification of gaps in operations as well as providing support in field investigation and response to the wild poliovirus or vaccine-derived poliovirus cases and environmental detections.
  • Take part in pre, intra and post campaign phases and to support different activities as per provincial and district needs with an aim of ensuring that the desired highest quality of the SIAs campaign is achieved and less children missed in subsequent campaing.
  • Prepare PEI situation reports and activity reports of districts and provincial levels and update these on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate with Provincial EPI and PEI teams to support implementation of the PEI-EPI synergy action plan, recommendations, and other activities suggested by the EOC.
  • Analyze immunization and SIAs data from all sources, identify gaps and suggest corrective measures at Provincial EOC.
  • Support the EPI team in ensuring the low-performing UCs are prioritized for EOAs and coverage plan for zero dose.
  • Participate in and facilitate training workshops aiming at capacity building of human resource at all levels (Province, district, and UC) for SIAs, Essential Immunization and AFP/VPD Surveillance.
  • Ensure that the updated global and national guidelines are adequately applied and used at all levels for investigation of AFP cases and provide support and critically review weekly/monthly surveillance data and identify and mediate gaps, if any.
  • Undertake other relevant duties as directed by the Senior CDC advisor, Advanced Analytics Team Lead CDC/IG and PEOC Coordinator.
  • Actively participate in the organizational biweekly call/visual meeting.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate: MD or other, and MPH /Epidemiology.
  • At least 5 years of experience in leading polio eradication or EPI activities particularly in outbreak response in complex settings.
  • Must be Pakistani and/or based in Pakistan
