JOB DESCRIPTION

"ONSITE - ISLAMABAD BASED JOB/ NO REMOTE WORK OPPORTUNITY"

Melior ITS is looking for a junior accounts officer for maintaining accurate day-to-day accounting records in Xero, ensure timely posting of AP/AR, support month-end closing processes, and provide reliable financial data to enable smooth operations and informed decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1- Bookkeeping & Ledgers

  • Post all supplier invoices, payments, receipts and journals on time
  • Maintain AP/AR ageing and follow up with stakeholders where needed
  • Match supporting documents (PO, GRN, contracts) before posting

2- Month-End Support

  • Perform basic reconciliations (bank, vendor, payroll inputs)
  • Prepare schedules for prepayments, accruals and adjustments
  • Support quarterly reporting and audit preparation

3- Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure documentation completeness in SharePoint
  • Follow chart of accounts, tagging and approval matrix
  • Maintain confidentiality & integrity of financial data

4- Coordination & Reporting

  • Provide status updates (AP/AR, pending docs, issues) to BNC
  • Liaise with admin/procurement for missing approvals or clarifications
  • Assist Finance/Analyst team with cost and reporting requests

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 6 months -1 year of accounting experience (preferably in IT/software house or services)
  • Hands-on exposure to Xero or any cloud-ERP (preferred)
  • Understanding of AP/AR, reconciliations, vouchers & audit support
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets
  • Attention to detail, ownership mindset, and discipline with deadlines

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

  • BS/BBA (Finance/Accounts) / ACCA (part) / CA (CAF)
