Purpose of the Role:

As a Scrum Master / Project Manager, you will ensure that development teams follow Scrum framework values and Agile practices while overseeing project planning, execution, and delivery. You will mentor and motivate teams to improve processes, facilitate meetings and decision-making processes, eliminate team impediments, and ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, all while aligning with business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coach team members on Agile principles and provide general guidance.
• Organize and facilitate planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business objectives.
• Create and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress to all affected teams and management.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and scope based on stakeholder requirements.
• Define project objectives, deliverables, and milestones.
• Create and manage project budgets, including forecasting and resource allocation.
• Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues, providing timely updates to stakeholders.
• Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution to improve team productivity while promoting continuous improvement.
• Ensure that the development teams are practicing core Agile principles.
• Work closely with assigned product owners to define the vision and ensure the team is on the right track.
• Collaborate with product managers and QA teams to establish acceptance criteria for user stories.
• Assure that user stories in product backlogs are prioritized and estimated, scheduling and facilitating planning and prioritization sessions.
• Foster a collaborative team environment to encourage productivity and engagement.
• Track team velocity and deltas between sprints to ensure high quality and timely delivery to customers, business owners, and stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication between teams and product managers, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Review and improve practices, recommending tools for Scrum planning and monitoring.
• Develop and implement project management best practices and methodologies.

Attributes:

• Working in an Agile environment and a banking environment within large, complex change projects.
• Proficient with tools such as Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, Git, and GitHub.
• Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, rules, and practices, as well as basic understanding of software development processes.
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders based on a good understanding of their business objectives and the services required to meet those objectives.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results while adhering to deadlines.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good skills to coach teams on Agile Scrum practices.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
• Understanding tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and user stories.
