We're fulfilling our customer's energy needs through various products and while maintaining the highest levels of safety, security and quality standards. Our products range from petroleum to diesel, kerosene oil, ultra-furnace, super plus, as well as lubricant for which we've partnered up with the LOTOS Group of Poland.

Position Overview:

As we expand our operations, we are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Manager -Accounts & Taxation to join our Finance team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring tax compliance and effective tax planning within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

· Accounting Operations: Manage daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliation of financial statements.

· Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with company policies and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).

· Budget Support: Assist in the preparation of budgets, monitor expenditure, and provide variance analysis to aid strategic planning.

· Cost Monitoring: Track and analyze costs related to fuel procurement, logistics, and distribution to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.

· Audit Assistance: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and facilitate seamless audit processes.

· Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flows, oversee petty cash, and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.

· Team Oversight: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounting tasks.

· Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for improved performance.

· Assist in the preparation, filing, and compliance of all indirect and direct tax returns (including VAT, sales tax, excise, and income tax).

· Prepare tax provisions, schedules, and reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

· Support in reviewing and ensuring that all tax-related entries in the general ledger are accurate and comply with statutory requirements.

· Maintain and monitor the company's tax filings and records.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • CA Inter.
  • Minimum of 3.5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the oil & gas or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with local tax laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
