METRO opened its first cash & carry wholesale center in Pakistan in 2007 and expanded to 5 wholesale centers in a short span of 18 months. In July 2012, METRO and Makro-Habib combined their wholesale businesses in Pakistan, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership. This merger allowed both companies to combine resources, gain financial strength, and generate synergies to benefit customers and suppliers. Today, the company operates 10 wholesale centers in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Faisalabad under the registered name METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd.

METRO Pakistan is part of METRO GROUP's sales division, METRO Cash & Carry, the international leader in self-service wholesale. The company operates more than 700 stores across 21 countries with a workforce of over 100,000 employees. In 2015, sales were approximately 30 billion Euro.

Job Description
  • Deliver key KPIs; identify, register, and develop new opportunities/customers according to a calendar schedule, generating consistent sales and margins for new customers.
  • Identify business potential of prospective customers and develop/manage personal relationships through market visits. Be active and vigilant in seeking new opportunities and expanding the network.
  • Manage a portfolio of customers; engage with customers, execute sales, increase sales, manage credit, follow up on commitments, identify customer needs, handle complaints, and respond to feedback.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships with procurement and operations teams to create initiatives and customized solutions.
  • Consult with customers about business challenges and requirements, and inform them about Metro's product portfolio, options, and cost benefits.
  • Use both direct (face-to-face, calls) and indirect (networking) selling methods.
  • Maintain detailed notes and tracking sheets to monitor customer development progress.
  • Conduct sales activities with professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications

Bachelor's or Intermediate education with 6-8 years of experience.
