The Nutrition and Food Services Department (NFSD) provides a range of products and services to students, faculty, staff as well as patients and their attendants. It comprises of a team of experienced clinical nutritionists, dietitians, and foodservice professionals. The services are provided through six sections; clinical nutrition, patient meal services, cafeteria & catering services, food production, food safety management and cost control and approximately 13,000-15,000 meals are served in a day.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 22000:2018 and JCIA systems and processes for cafeteria and function catering services, maintaining policies and codes for hygiene, food safety, infection control, and sanitation, participating in audits, and monitoring performance standards.
  • Monitor staff hygiene, counseling for violations, and ensuring on-job training for service and catering staff to maintain high standards.
  • Investigate customer complaints, monitoring productivity, conducting satisfaction surveys, and collaborating with other departments to improve catering services, while also ensuring professional communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain budget targets, control expenses, prepare service scope reports, plan equipment/human resources, and actively participate in procurement, supplier selection, design planning, opening phase, and operation.
  • Plan menus, monitoring product quality, providing efficient service, ensuring food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards, communicating catering information to stakeholders, arranging special events, and developing balanced staff and supervisory duty schedules. It also involves negotiating with caterers, ensuring food quality and presentation, and ensuring budget control and quality catering services.
Requirements
  • Masters in any discipline preferably MBA
  • Graduate in any discipline
  • 4 -6 years related work experience at Management Level in case of Master Degree
  • 6-7 years related work experience at Management Level in case of Bachelor Degree with Certificate in Food & Beverage
  • Knowledge of ISO 22000:2018 Food safety management system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Good Interpersonal Skills and well-developed written and verbal skills
  • Strong leadership and motivating skills including the ability to build strong relationships with customers and staff
  • Able to organize workload and delegate tasks, meet demand / deadline & targets and to train service/catering staff
  • Strong management, organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of food, food hygiene, food preparation and service
  • In-depth knowledge in practical & theoretical catering and able to attend events outside working hours
