The Division:

Innovative software solutions from IDS empower Dealerships with information to effectively manage and grow their business. Our software helps our Dealerships clients to position themselves for growth, financing, acquisition, or IPO. Our customers are among the largest RV and Marine dealerships with Constellation as their trusted technology partner. IDS commitment to dealership software is second to none, with an exceptional engineering group dedicated to innovative software development and support, and constant enhancements to our solutions. Job Overview:

We are looking to hire a strong People Manager, who will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of software engineers and other technical professionals to ensure high-performance standards and team success. The role will require leadership to guide team members to focus on company goals, develop individual talent, foster a collaborative culture, and ensure employee satisfaction and retention.

The successful candidate will be located in the Contour Software Karachi office, working as part of the resource-center team as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management:
    • Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of software builders, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other technical roles.
    • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to discuss performance, career development, and personal growth and well-being.
    • Ensure the team operates with a high degree of collaboration and effective communication.
    • Facilitate constructive conflict resolution within teams.
    • Lead by example, embracing change, and promoting the Agile mindset.
    • Empower teams to make decisions at the appropriate level.
  2. Performance Management:
    • Regularly assess employee performance, provide constructive feedback, manage performance reviews, and recognize achievements.
    • Implement improvement plans for underperforming employees and support high-performing individuals in career growth.
    • Provide mentorship and coaching to encourage skill development and job satisfaction.
    • Create an environment where individuals feel valued and motivated to contribute.
  3. Recruitment & Talent Development:
    • Collaborate with HR and recruitment teams to hire top talent for the team.
    • Develop and implement strategies to onboard new hires effectively.
    • Help identify learning and development needs and create growth plans for individual team members.
  4. Employee Engagement & Retention:
    • Foster a positive work environment by encouraging open feedback and ensuring a healthy team culture.
    • Organize team-building activities, initiatives, and recognition programs to maintain employee morale.
    • Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and support work-life balance.
    • Collaborate with other department managers to ensure alignment of team efforts with company objectives.
    • Act as a liaison between team members and senior management to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
  5. Reporting & Administration:
    • Provide approval requests such as (Leaves, Professional Development Budget, Hardware etc.)
    • Track team progress, project timelines, and individual performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on team performance, project status, eNPS, team satisfaction, and other relevant metrics.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in managing or leading a software engineering team (preferable).
  • Experience working in an agile environment is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of software development processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with coding, development environments, and problem-solving in technical areas (e.g., programming languages, debugging, etc.) is a plus.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking:

  • Strong ability to think strategically and solve problems, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.

Organizational Skills:

  • Highly organized with excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high-quality output.
