Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CPC (Certified Professional Coder) to join our medical billing and coding team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding systems and will ensure accurate coding of medical procedures, diagnoses, and services to support optimal reimbursement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes based on medical documentation.
  • Ensure coding compliance with federal regulations and payer policies.
  • Review patient charts and documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to clarify diagnoses or procedures.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement rules.
  • Assist with coding audits and implement corrections as needed.
  • Monitor coding trends and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Protect patient confidentiality by HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Certification: CPC (Certified Professional Coder) from AAPC is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of relevant medical coding experience.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in health information or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using EHR and coding software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, 3M, EncoderPro).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet productivity and accuracy targets.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience coding for [specialty—e.g., radiology, surgery, inpatient, etc.].
  • Familiarity with payer-specific coding requirements and appeals process.
