Job Title: IT Support & Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and proactive IT Support & Infrastructure Specialist to join our team and take full ownership of our office's IT operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and has a strong understanding of IT systems, networks, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:1. Office Network & Infrastructure:

• Plan, install, and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure across the office.
• Ensure stable internet connectivity, troubleshoot outages, and optimize bandwidth usage.
• Set up firewalls, VPNs, and routers with strong security configurations.
• Conduct regular network audits and implement improvements to maintain uptime and performance.

2. Hardware & Device Management:

• Prepare laptops and other IT equipment for new hires, ensuring correct configuration, OS installation, and necessary software.
• Manage IT asset inventory including laptops, monitors, headsets, printers, routers, etc.
• Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of hardware.
• Provide tech onboarding support to employees and manage hardware issuance/return process.

3. Security & Compliance:

• Enforce security best practices to protect company data, devices, and networks.
• Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, patch software regularly, and set up antivirus & encryption protocols.
• Implement and maintain compliance with IT policies (e.g., ISO, GDPR, HIPAA if applicable).
• Ensure proper data backup protocols and disaster recovery plans are in place.

4. Technical Support:

• Serve as the first point of contact for internal IT-related issues and provide timely troubleshooting.
• Resolve software, hardware, and network issues across departments.
• Educate team members on safe tech practices and IT tools.

5. IT Systems & Tools:

• Manage user accounts, email setups, access permissions, and cloud tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, etc.).
• Support implementation and maintenance of collaboration tools, project management software, and productivity platforms.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment purchases, repairs, and subscriptions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in IT support, network administration, or infrastructure roles.
• Strong knowledge of network systems (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs), routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Proficiency with Windows and macOS systems, basic scripting, and common office applications.
• Familiarity with IT compliance frameworks and security standards.
• Experience with tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, MDM, and cloud storage systems.

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory):

• Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or similar
• Experience with endpoint management (e.g., Jamf, Intune, or other MDM platforms)
• Exposure to ISO 27001 or SOC2 compliance
