Japanese Bilingual Outside Sales Associate

Essential Job Functions
  • Manage procurement of food and non-food items from other MTC locations and vendors nationwide.
  • Source and negotiate prices with vendors.
  • Monitor inventory, create purchasing plans based on volume, assortment, and lead times.
  • Organize invoices and create purchase orders.
  • Calculate costs, process receiving, and post into AS400 accurately and promptly.
  • Work with warehouse to conduct physical inventories and report issues.
  • Update AS400 for inventory adjustments, item transfers, and vendor info.
  • Handle shipment issues promptly and escalate when needed.
  • Answer questions regarding products, orders, shipping, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain HACCP food safety plans and related programs.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA and USDA standards, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions.
  • Attend company events outside normal hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Sit for extended periods in an office.
  • Use a computer for long periods.
  • Reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions
  • Normal to loud noise levels in the office.
Other Requirements
  • Business-level English and Japanese (read/write/speak/listen).
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Work independently and in teams.
  • Adapt to changing workloads.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related fields preferred.
  • 2-3 years purchasing or relevant experience required.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Intermediate math skills for profit calculations, measurements, and inventory.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management.
  • Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes is a plus.
