Procurement Manager

This is a crucial role in our procurement team responsible for overseeing the purchase of inventory items.

Job Purpose: The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring timely availability of materials for manufacturing.

  1. Manage quotations and negotiate prices to obtain optimal value.
  2. Coordinate clearance of consignments with local regulatory bodies and clearing agents.
  3. Streamline shipment receiving and handing over.
  4. Arrange import permissions from relevant authorities.
  5. Facilitate audits of vendors.
  6. Develop alternative sources of materials.
  7. Plan for contingencies in case of delays or loss in production.
  8. Coordinate with Quality Control for approval of receiving reports.
  9. Verify bills of suppliers/agents to finance.
  10. Maintain proper documentation of approvals and rejections.
  11. Prepare cost analyses.
  12. Review and update purchasing policies and guidelines.
Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.

They must possess strong communication and negotiation skills.

A sound knowledge of customs laws and current applicable duties & taxes is essential.

Good knowledge of Ministry of Health requirements and banking procedures is also required.
