Regional Business Director

Manages the company business for the Iran region, developing and implementing strategy for the local sales unit. Provides day-to-day leadership and guidance, managing the performance of members in the Local Sales Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leads a large team and serves as a key contact for major customers.
  2. Develops in-depth knowledge of the territory and/or product area, providing expert input to business strategy, plans, and processes.
  3. Trains and coaches the team to achieve business objectives, leveraging strong leadership skills to motivate staff and deliver exceptional performance.

Strategic Objectives:

  1. Overall management of regional business functions, including finance, care, logistics, retail, and marketing.
  2. Develops and monitors action-oriented plans and objectives to realize strategic goals, ensuring alignment with company direction.
  3. Responsible for meeting defined targets for own territory, driving consistent expansion of profitable sales.
  4. Manages price levels and sales performance, ensuring effective resource allocation and development/implementation of plans and processes.

Regional Strategy Focus Areas:

  1. Finance and Control: Manages budgeting and control activities, responsible for settlement of claims, STP planning, and overall financial management.
  2. Care: Oversees infrastructure and footprint for Care centers, responsible for talent management, implementation of company values, reviews, and employee development.
  3. Logistics: Manages outlook processes, MTP delivery on KPI, mixed forecast accuracy, demand planning, and overall logistics operations.
  4. Retail and Sales Operations: Facilitates planning distribution roadmaps, Nokia academy trainings, and promoter training, reviewing external consultant recommendations.
  5. Marketing: Supports joint marketing funds, plans BTL activities, visibility across regions, and marketing activities with regional key accounts.

Additionally, manages Human Resources processes for regional employees, including talent management, company values implementation, reviews, and other HR-related activities.

Job Requirements

Essential Competencies:
Business Insight, Business Planning, Channel Management, Collaboration, Customer Focus, Leading & Coaching, Persuading & Influencing, Solution/Value Selling.

Considerable knowledge of solution & services, particularly mobile internet services. Considerable knowledge of Iran and/or MEA.

Strong leadership skills, ability to develop strategies for successful introduction and growth of company solutions, and implement these strategies effectively.

Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Individual Portfolio:
Expert in more than one area, broad perspective. Typically 12-18 years relevant experience. Degree. Telecommunications experience essential.

Work Environment:
Highly independent and self-directed, develops plans, measures effectiveness, assesses customer relationships and service levels, and can develop and implement complex and innovative concepts.

Scope:
Business Leader. Effective management of resources and development/implementation of plans and processes. Interprets policies and establishes procedures, increasing awareness and influence of other functions outside of own business area.

A well-rounded, experienced candidate who is emotionally mature, able to:

  1. Analyse and give a clear direction to the team and business.
  2. Be a catalyst for Solutions Transformation by focusing on both business transformation and culture transformation in the LSU.
  3. Create options and initiate proposals - and align with the overall company direction.
  4. Drive the implementation of the same in LSU and build cross-functional alignment and way-of-working, i.e. 1 team.
  5. Deal in politically-sensitive environments.
  6. Use business management/sales/distribution experience to build this business in the above context.
  7. Build a team and align the respective functions behind the Iranian objectives and the Nokia overall objectives.
  8. Identify, develop and execute solution opportunities and offerings.
  9. Drive and establish an effective ecosystem consisting of operator & developers through partnership to develop the company's service businesses.
  10. Lead the development of the company's solution business.
  11. Oversee and direct business development activities to ensure consistent expansion of profitable sales and establishment of new business partners.
  12. Ensure the readiness of technical, operational and regulatory issues prior to the launch of service.
  13. Articulate specifically the Transformation (what and how) towards a Solutions business and the effects that has internally and externally.
